27/04/2026 - In Memory of David Waldeck and Vladimiro Mujica:
The field of molecular electronics has lost two dear colleagues and friends this year, David Waldeck and Vladimiro Mujica. The SMERALDO scientific community extends its deepest condolences to their families, friends, and colleagues. Their remarkable contributions to the understanding of CISS will not be forgotten by the scientific community.
May they rest in peace.

Mission

Over the past few decades, researchers proposed several concepts for single-molecule devices, aiming to drive a potential transition from fundamental devices to practical electronic applications. The lack of a synergic approach among researchers, industries, and financiers limits technology maturity and creates a missing chain link between the design of molecular circuits and the understanding of basic phenomena. The SMERALDO community addresses the key challenges in single-molecule electronics, fostering innovation and promoting the realization of methodologies for studying, fabricating, characterizing, designing and integrating single-molecule circuits.
